On the Ground supports sustainable community development in farming regions across the world.
We accomplish our mission by partnering with other nonprofits, progressive businesses, activists, philanthropists, and (most importantly) local communities. Together we are creating lasting infrastructure, built on a foundation of gender and social equality, environmental sustainability, and economic security.
Founded in 2006 by Chris Treter, On the Ground takes on challenges in developing regions that are significant to the worldwide struggle for peace and human rights, and that combat economic or environmental oppression on a global scale. Each project area is selected due to existing relationships within our network and based on specific expressed needs by the communities in which we partner. We collaborate with in-country host organizations that possess well-established, broad bases of support.
