Bean North French Roast When you can't get coffee dark enough.

The name reflects the tastes and traditions of coffee roasters in Europe in the 1800s, where dark roasted coffee was all the rage. The Italians roasted an espresso roast that was nearly as dark as French. The Vienna roast – a staple of the Viennese cafes and pastry shops known for their great coffee – was slightly lighter than the Italian roast. But the French proudly took the honours as the darkest roast of all.

Simply put, “French roast” describes the colour of the coffee beans after roasting. French roast beans are on the darker end, usually the colour of dark chocolate. The Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCA) uses the ‘Agtron Gourmet Scale’ (AGT)to categorize the colour of coffee roasts on a scale of 25 (darkest) - 95 (the lightest).

Great Change of Type of Coffee

After several years that we be with Guatemala San Marco, which also an excellent coffee, I decided to change to also Guatemalan, this time a new to me Chajul Single Origin coffee.
My husband and I love it for it very mild taste. We drink black coffee first thing in the morning on an empty stomach because black coffee cleanse liver and intestines from toxins. Just sharing my knowledge.
This coffee has no bitterness at all. Highly recommend it.
